Foreign travel advice
The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has announced a list of countries that are exempt from its advice against all non-essential overseas travel. You can find the list of exempt countries here.
It is essential that you check the latest FCDO advice for your destination before you travel. Our travel insurance policies do not cover travel undertaken to an area where the FCDO advise against all or all but essential travel.
We’re currently experiencing high call volumes so it may take us longer than usual to answer your call. If you have any questions, we recommend that you check our FAQs section or speak to us via Live chat before calling us. We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience.
All new and existing Sainsbury’s Bank Travel Insurance policies cover you for emergency medical treatment and/or medical repatriation if you contract COVID-19 during your overseas trip. This cover is only provided if you are travelling to a destination where there’s no restriction from the FCDO.
Policies sold after 13 March 2020 do not provide cover for any other claims related to COVID-19, including cancellation.
