From viewing your policy documents to making a claim, here's how you can manage your travel insurance policy with us.

Foreign travel advice

The Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) has announced a list of countries that are exempt from its advice against all non-essential overseas travel. You can find the list of exempt countries here.

It is essential that you check the latest FCDO advice for your destination before you travel. Our travel insurance policies do not cover travel undertaken to an area where the FCDO advise against all or all but essential travel.

COVID-19 cover

Our Travel Insurance policies now include COVID-19 cover as standard, for new policies sold or renewed (from 07/10/2020).

This includes:

  • Cancellation cover if you’re diagnosed with COVID-19 within 14 days of your booked departure date
  • Cover for emergency medical treatment and repatriation if you contract COVID-19 while abroad
  • Unlimited medical expenses if you choose Platinum single trip or annual multi-trip cover

Access your documents

You can access your Sainsburys Bank portal to:

  • View saved quotes and your policy number
  • Add a new quote or policy to your online portal
  • View and print your policy documents
  • See exactly what’s covered with your policy.

Make a claim

Do you need to make a travel insurance claim? It's best to have all the information about what happened to hand before getting in touch, this includes:

  • Your personal details and policy number - you can get your policy number on your Sainsburys Bank portal
  • Details about your claim, for example the flight number and name of your airline (if it’s relevant).

Cancel your policy

If you need to cancel your travel insurance policy, access our cancellation form online or alternatively contact us through our Live chat . Our opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (excluding bank holidays).

Renew your policy

You'll receive your renewal letter about three weeks before your policy is due to end. Please take the time to read through your renewal invite and before you renew please check the following:

  • Your cover is suited to your travel plans for the next year
  • Your personal information and those of any other individuals on the policy

Amend your existing policy

If you need to make a change to your policy including:

  • Adding winter sports cover
  • Changing or updating personal details
  • If your circumstances have changed
  • Adding friends or family to your policy
  • Changing the region you're travelling to
